10 Apples Up On Top; Apple Orchard

10 Apples Up On Top!

We read the Book 10 Apples Up On Top, and took our pretend apples to see if we could balance an apple on our heads or not. Then we cut out a picture of ourselves and stacked 10 apples on top of our heads.

Here's a fun You Tube video of 10 Apples Up On Top

Apple Orchard

We took a field trip on Friday to Holmberg's Orchard. Johnny Appleseed gave us a tour and we learned about apples from him, how many apple trees they have at the orchard, what kinds of apples they have, most apples have 10 seeds and how when you can see the star when you cut them the opposite way, how they pick the apples, why they keep them cold, how they wash/sort the apples. We even sang Happy Birthday to him!

Happy Birthday Johnny Appleseed! We made our Johnny Appleseed hats from Funshine
