Let's Give Thanks, week 2

We had a short week but still managed to get quite a bit accomplished! We had fun playing the suggested games from Funshine this week

 

 

 

We painted our Dried Corn Hanger from Funshine, some had more fun popping the bubbles than painting, which lead us to getting out the bubble wrap to pop and jump on when we were done painting. I seen this idea on pinterest and wanted to make sure and do it this year, thank you Funshine for providing this for a craft activity:)

 

 We had to have our own version of Indian Corn for snack!

 

 

 

 

A few fun treats we made this week. To the left is Turkey toast and the to right is nutter butter acorns.

Our sensory table for the week! Notice the whole ears of corn, we determined that Indian corn is a lot harder to shuck that field corn!

Turkey Toes; Manners

Here's our Turkey Toes from Funshine. I always love painting their feet, it's such a fun sensory for them and listening to them giggle as all their friends come up and ask if it tickles them!

 

 

 

We also played this turkey game that I made a couple years ago. It worked great for recognizing colors and working on those fine motor skills with pinching the clothespins.

 

 

 

Our book of the month is Manners at the Table, a great book for small children as a reminder on the manners they should have at the table! To celebrate working on our manners, we had a manners tea party... Only manners were allowed and we had to work on using our manners/words such as "please pass me" "no thank you", etc...

 

Letter I; Turkeys; Scarecrows

Letter I, we made an ice cream cone I and did our journals from Funshine

Our little gobbler headbands... I thought these were pretty cute, especially loved the noodle for the beak! Another Funshine project!

 

 

We played a few rounds of the math game from Funshine. I made it work for these kiddos (as they are all a bit younger), we counted the pumpkins and then matched it to the correct number.  

 

 

A suggested activity from Funshine this week was to have the shapes and then sing it like the Hokey Pokey, put your circle in, put your circle out, etc..

 

 

 

To make our scarecrows from Funshine, we had to first draw a circle for the face and then cut it out before adding all the fun stuff! They LOVED their scarecrows:-)

Sleep Tight, Week 2; post2

This was our freestyle art from Funshine on Friday. We used a golf tee and punched holes into our paper (we used the carpet as our soft surface) once we thought we had enough holes, we went into the bathroom (where it was dark) and shined a flashlight through the back of our paper... AND... we ened up with a night sky! I thought it was pretty nifty! 

Here was our Wishing Pouch from Funshine. The girls thought they were purses and had a ball with them! 

All in all, we had a great 2 weeks of Sleep Tight. Next week is onto Let's Give Thanks

Sleep Tight, week 2

Shooting Star was our creative arts from Funshine on Monday; we used a foam craft stick and they had to cut the curly ribbon into pieces, tape it to the stick and then add their star. The girls opted to have them as bracelets and the boys kept them as sticks!

Five Little Turkeys-- we use these oven mits to act out the Five Little Turkeys fingerplay. This works awesome and they LOVE it! 

We made some colorful turkeys too... they were full of colorful feathers! 

Painting the circles for our bears from Funshine, which I forgot to snap a picture of the finished product! 

Sleepy Sheep was another Funshine project. They thought it was pretty neat that the white crayon showed up on the blue paper! 

For literacy for this week, I asked that they all bring their favorite bedtime story so we could read them! We had lots of good books:) 

Goodnight Moon, 10 in the Bed, Glitzy Mobile, Rectangles

 

Goodnight Moon was our Funshine craft this week and also was great for working on rectangles. 

10 on the Bed was a fun activity we did from Funshine. 

  Rectangle Crayon Rubbings, another craft project from Funshine. This project amazed the kiddos after they were done coloring and pealed off their rectangles, I don't think they were expecting to see what they found!

 

While we were busy coloring one day this week, we noticed we had a visitor outside the window, so we watched him for awhile and then had to read the book, The Busy Little Squirrel 

Five Little Turkeys was a little fingerplay that we made this week to work on counting to 5 and back to 0! 

Glitzy Mobile from Funshine was our project on Friday... They had fun coloring their moons and stars, adding the tape to the string and then finally the GLITTER! 

Letter G; Sleep Tight; National Sandwich Day
