Windy today...

It sounds like the kid's all had great weekends! From what I've heard, they all had a great time. It's windy today!

We painted dolphins and sharks today and added our faces to our deep sea divers from Friday as well as added our picture to our dolphin to look like we were riding on it. We will have to finish up our sharks tomorrow. I will have to post a picture tomorrow of them hung up.

It's amazing to watch their imaginations come to life when they are busy playing. I added a few beach things to our dramatic play over the weekend and they can come up with more ideas to play, it's fun to watch!

Breakfast: cereal, banana
Lunch: tacos, oranges
Snack: cinnamon roll

Happy Friday!

The kids are all excited that the weekend is here. Although summer hasn't offically began yet, it seems like it's the first official summer weekend! They are all excited for those of them that are going camping! Hopefully the weather holds out!

We made a few things this morning- we colored a deep sea diver for our new bulletin board and we also made a jellyfish that we hung up. Those took us a little while as they had to dobber the whole thing and then we did the same to the back.

We did get outside this morning, but only for a little bit. It was chilly out! They kept warm running around playing some game they made up:)

Breakfast: donuts, grapes
Lunch: chicken strips, ff, oranges
Snack: puppy chow

They decided that today should be "blue day", so needless to say we had to have blue potatoes, blue applesauce and blue milk at lunch.

Lunch: mashed potatoes, applesauce, meatballs, tuna salad

What a beautiful start to our week! Let's hope this weather continues:) The kids' have been enjoying watching the finchs and orioles on the bird feeder, they are getting pretty good at counting them. A lot of the time, I hear, Nicci there are 3 yellow birds, or I see 1 orange bird!

We worked on our pre-writing skills with a tracing worksheet then made flowers with foam shapes. They think they are pretty big kids since I've been letting them use the glue theirselves! It's just the little things in life I guess:)

May 12, 2011

Thursday

What a rainy and gloomy day! Despite the weather, we made the best of it! We made flower puppets this morning while the little ones were sleeping, then we decided to switch the toys/books around, which is always fun to have something new to play/read with!

We cleaned up the garden thing, that they've been eying up all winter on the deck! (which is actually a baby toy, that they can crawl thru the tunnel and open the door) The big kids had more fun sitting in their reading books, I asked if that was the book garden? They just looked at me funny and continued to read.

We made a fresh batch of pink and green playdough, so that will be our afternoon activity. We haven't done playdough for a long time, so it should be fun and entertaining!

Breakfast: cereal, grapes
Lunch: french toast, sausage, oranges, hashbrowns
Snack: banana bread

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday today! This weather is gorgeous:) We worked on sorting this morning then did a sorting worksheet with flowers. After flannel board stories, we did a few letter songs then headed outside and enjoyed a walk and just had a blast playing and just running!

In honor of Mother's Day, one of their new favorite books is, Mars Needs Moms! Of course, they always pick this book for us to read, so I about have it memorized! In the book, Milo wonders what is so special about moms? "Anyone could see that they were giant, summer-stealing, child-working, perfumy garden goblins. Mothers are also bellowing broccoli bullies and carrot-cudding cuckoos. Mothers were slave-driving, trash-mashing, rubbish odor ogres." Until the Martians take his mom back to Mars and he follows them does her realize just how special moms really are!

Breakfast: donuts, banana
Lunch: fish nuggets, french fries, grapes, bread
Snack: carrot bars

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL MOTHER'S DAY!

*Monday: I have another ultrasound at 8:30, so Grandma Rosie will be here while I'm gone... this baby better cooperate!

Grandma came and read stories this morning and we headed outside and tried to stay out of the wind! Thank goodness the sandbox is sheltered from the house, so we played in the sand while we were out.

Lunch: spaghetti hot dish, strawberries, grapes
Snack: grapes & pretzels

After flannel board stories and working on our counting skills we headed outside to enjoy the beautiful (non-windy!) day! It was so nice to be able to be outside, I think we were out for almost 2 hrs! AWESOME! We went for a nice big walk and wore them out:--)

Since it was so nice out, we were finally able to eat lunch outside on the deck:)
