Monday!

We kept busy this morning, always a good thing:) It's always nice, to see how well they can play together after the weekend... they must have missed everyone!

We made lions this morning, tomorrow we will have to make a lamb. I sure hope that March comes in like a lamb and goes out like a lamb! We also did flannel board stories this morning and enjoyed some fresh air!

We tried something new for lunch today, "Muffin Tin Monday"... Each Monday, we will eat our lunch in a muffin tin... They thought it was so "awesome" and "cool"!

~*~ Tomorrow, I have a DR. appt at 10:00, so Mike and Grandma will be here while I am gone.

Breakfast: cereal, banana
Lunch: hamburger/noodle hotdish, asparagus (some liked), peaches
Snack: crackers

Terriffic Thursday!

Here's a picture we took this morning, those missing were napping or at school! We made a rainbow craft to hang up in the toy room for St. Patrick's Day, they had to match the color streamers to the rainbow colors, it seemed to be a little tricky for some, but we managed to get it done:)

It was too cold to go out, so we had to do some large motor games to wear off some energy!! They also spent time doing puzzles (which seem to be one of their favorite things lately) and coloring! We finished coloring our Thing 1 and Thing 2 people to hang up for Dr. Seuss' birthday.

Breakfast: cereal, banana
Lunch: corn dogs, ff, green applesauce
Snack: string cheese and crackers

Wednesday already! Where has the week gone? We spent the morning, re-arranging the playroom.... always a nice change! It's nice when everything seems "new" again! We have our reading corner back and they have been enjoying spending time in it. They also kept busy this morning with puzzles and memory. One of the kids said to me, Nicci you always mix up the cards good! When they lay the cards out, some reason they always seem to know right where the matches are!

We finished up our dental health today by making toothbrushes and they each got a toothbrush kit from the Colgate Smiles Program.

Breakfast: chocolate chip pancakes, grapes
Lunch: chicken alfredo, banana, broccoli, garlic toast
Snack: rolls

Letter Q

We learned about the letter Q today, thanks to Garrett & Gavin for bringing the letter jar back. That was a hard letter! I'm still singing the Q song in my head, "Q, Q! Q,Q! A circle, slanted stick!, Q, Q! Q,Q! A big karate kick!... Q, Q! Q,Q! A circle, down, and pop! Q, Q! Q,Q! A big karate kick! Q, Q! Q,Q! /q/, /q/, /q/, /q/, /q/, Q!" We made queens today for the letter Qq.

We also enjoyed some fresh air this morning and will probably go out again this afternoon. Their cheeks sure were rosy when they came in!

Breakfast: cereal, banana
Lunch: HM chili, crackers, grapes
Snack: grapes, oranges

Happy 1st Birthday Alexis!

Happy 1st Birthday to Alexis today! It's hard to believe that she is 1 already, they sure don't stay little for long :( She opened up her present, ripping off piece by piece of paper, it was pretty cute, the kids were starting to get impatient with her to see what it was!

We made a smile mask this morning and also played playdough. The kids must be looking forward to warm weather too, as they took their dolls swimming this morning, I told them not to forget to put on sunscreen!

Breakfast: donuts, peaches
Lunch: pizza hotdish, grapes, oranges
Snack: special k bars

I wish....

Watching Mike move the slush with the skid loader

I wish this nice weather would stick around! Today, it really makes me think of spring! The kids had a blast playing outside this morning re-discovering the toys that are left out there...

We spent a majority of our time outside this morning, but we also painted a tooth with toothbrushes. (They thought it was pretty funny that we were painting with toothbrushes!) We also worked on writing our names.

Breakfast: cinnamon rolls, grapes
Lunch: chicken nuggets, tator tots, frozen peas
Snack: Doritos

It's a Beautiful Day Today!

I sure wish this nice weather would stick around until spring!

We started working on our dental health theme today, we talked about good foods for our teeth and bad foods. We also did a puzzle worksheet that the majority of them cut out great and glued it back together along with the Clifford magazine.

We played a few games this morning where we used our counting skills (probably without realizing they were counting)... 5 jumping jacks, clap your hands 7 times, etc... We also got some exercises in this way:)

We spent awhile outside this morning, they asked to go to the big snow hill, but I'm afraid it's probably way too muddy to get down there! They found the airplane teeter totter along with the swings and the slides.... so they kept busy regardless:)

Breakfast: french toast, grapes
Lunch: hamburger/potato hot dish, bread sticks, pears
Snack: yogurt, rice cakes

Windy Tuesday!

It was so windy this morning, thank goodness it finally went down. It looks like this afternoon will be gorgeous! We did get outside this morning for a little bit...

Today, we worked on the number 6 and glued a couple different groups of 6 to our Number 6. I also had them use the hole punch to punch six holes, I didn't realize that most of them didn't have the hand muscles to do this... so I guess we will work on some hand strengthening activities that will also help with writing skills down the road:)

Breakfast: cereal, pears
Lunch: spaghetti, lettuce salad
Snack: grapes, graham crackers

We're going stir crazy... we're on almost two weeks straight in the house... We need to get out:) Hopefully tomorrow it will be nice enough that we can get some fresh air into our lungs... it sure makes a difference including everyone's moods!!!!

We made fish out of hearts today and the bigger kids worked on heavy or light objects. Otherwise, we spent most of the morning dancing and playing. The little girls played dolls, the boys built with the workshop.

Wonderul Wednesday!

Someone told me it's supposed to be in the 30's all next week..... Whooo hooo!!! I can't wait! We will really be enjoying all that fresh air then :)

We sent the big kids off to school today and tackled trying to paint sun catchers this morning. Not sure if we will do this again with this age group. None the less, they still were able to paint them, so once they dry we will have to hang them up to see what they are really going to look like!

We also got our the doll house and workshop today. In between playing with those things, they also were busy playing doctor. A couple of them looked like they were having brain surgery:)

Before lunch, they helped me mix up the muffins for snack.... such big helpers I had!

Breakfast: pop tarts, banana
Lunch: chicken, rice, pears, grapes
Snack: muffins

Alligator Valentine Box's

I need to get back into the routine of blogging again.... all these snow days we've had lately, I guess I got out of the routine... So sorry about that!

At lunch time today, I put plain applesauce on their plates... then for the bowl on the table, I mixed in red food coloring... Oh... the red applesauce tastes so good Nicci, much better than the other stuff!

Breakfast: cereal, grapes
Lunch: tacos, applesauce
Snack: goldfish crackers

We've been busy playing post office lately:

Amber's creation yesterday was a love bug :)

Time to blog again!

With all the snow days this week, I guess I didn't blog about our days! Today, I had a DR. appt so Grandma Rosie stayed with the kids this morning. After I got back, we worked on a few groundhog projects. Amber and Kylie helped the little kids so that was a nice help!

We've been busy doing 24-48 piece puzzles. I also created a memory game out of pictures of the kids so we have played a few games of that each day! They really think it's funny to find a match, especially when they find it of themselves!

Breakfast: cinnamon rolls, grapes
Lunch: lasagna, cheese bread, banana
Snack: cookies
