Rainy Afternoon...

Tuesday... We started circle time with a book about going to the moon and having a moon cake... after we colored our planets for our paper, we each had a "moon cake". They thought they were so delicious, they kept on asking for more, but I told them that I only was able to bring back 10 from the moon:))

We enjoyed listening to the thunder when we were outside this morning, we were able to enjoy the whole time outside without rain!

Breakfast: pop tarts, grapes
Lunch: taco ring, lettuce, grapes
Snack: apples

Here is the recipe for "Moon Cake" AKA Yum Yum:

1st layer: Oreo cookie crumbs, crushed

2nd layer:
   Beat together:
       2 c. powdered sugar
       1/2 c. butter
       1 whole egg
       1 egg yolk
       1 tsp vanilla
       Cocoa mixture (3 TBSP cocoa wtih 1 TBSP oil)
   Fold in the one egg while that you separated and beat until stiff, then spoon this mixture over the cookie crumbs and freeze until solid.

3rd layer:
Layer with vanilla ice cream and sprinkle on top remaining Oreo cookies crumbs. I usually use a 1/2 gallon of ice cream and open the carton and slice about 1 inch thick slices and lay sideways until full layer of ice cream.

Happy Monday! Today, we started our space theme, so we used foam stickers to make a space scene, then the little kids traced stars and colored them in.

I had a DR. appt this morning to Mike stayed with the kids.

Breakfast: french toast sticks, grapes
Lunch: chicken, potato wedges, dinner roll, coleslaw
Snack: cereal

Beach Party!

Happy Friday! They had more fun playing in/with a box this morning! Sometimes the free toys are the best:) We started on our Fourth of July bulletin board and also decorated sand pails to take home today.

Breakfast: donuts, banana
Lunch: hotdog/bun, waffle fries, baked beans
Snack: smores

Just a reminder that Monday, I have an appt. with the perintologist, so Mike will be here from about 9:45 until I get back.

This afternoon we will have our beach party! The kids are super excited and were ready to sit down for it before nap once they seen the table:) Check back for pictures from it!

Thursday...

There was 9 in the bed and the little one said, roll over, roll over!

We made crabs today which was a little lengthy process but we survived it! We also made sandcastles out of sandpaper shapes. They had fun creating their own castles!

The big kids had the little kids playing school this morning, it's amazing how well they listen to the big kids:) Not sure I would at that age!!!

We enjoyed our time outside this morning, went for a walk, enjoyed swinging, playing with the coupe cars/tractors.

Breakfast: cereal, banana

Lunch: taco salad, grapes, oranges

Snack: chex mix

Wednesday...

The big girls dressed up the little kids today! We had to turn on "wedding music" so they could dance! Poor Gavin, had all the girls fighting over him:) 

Grandma was out to read stories this morning and we headed outside early. It almost seemed chilly out there! We will make our whales this afternoon before heading out.

Snack: cinnamon bread sticks

*Tuesday*

Happy Tuesday! It's windy out today and probably a good thing otherwise it would feel a lot hotter than what it is!

We headed outside after breakfast this morning and it was actually nice out! We came in and put Levi down for a nap and did a few circle time activities, finished up our turtles, made clams and colored an alligator puzzle. After table time we did the alphabet songs and a few flannel board stories before heading back outside.

Breakfast: muffin, banana
Lunch: tuna hotdish, watermelon, grapes
Snack: grapes, graham crackers

Monday

It's hot and sticky out their today! It's almost a 100* on the thermometer. We put on our swim suits and headed outside this morning to play in the water and keep cool! First we did the sprinkler then got out the spray bottles and had a water fight. They had a blast!

We started to make our turtles this morning, but I'm guessing they will take awhile to dry! We also played a few games of picture memory this morning (they always tell me, you make it hard Nicci, probably because I mix up the cards so they can't cheat!)

Breakfast: cereal, banana
Lunch: chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, bread
Snack: whale crackers

Friday!

Happy Friday! We survived another week:) We made starfish and hand print octopus's this morning. In between circle time and playing we made time to do the number/shape songs. It seems like we haven't done them for awhile, even Lexi joined in to wiggle her butt to the tunes:)))

We also had a couple new friends to play with this morning, Alex & Dave, so in case you hear about them... they didn't make it up:)

Thursday

It's hot and windy out today! Told the kid we would have to have ice cream cones after snack today!

This morning we read a book about Stanley the fish who had glittering scales. We glittered fish today and they all did a great job on them! After the glittering, we played play dough then sent the big girls off to t-ball and we did flannel board stories.

With all this wind that we've been having, we have been finding lots of dead baby birds. The above picture was taken on our walk this morning, they were trying to diagnose the bird, I heard everything from "it's missing it's eyes" to "I think he has a broken cheek!"

I think we will be getting out the spray bottles and paint brushes this afternoon and play with water!

Wonderful Wednesday!

Here was a few pictures from yesterday! We kept busy this morning, we painted crabs with our hands and feet, a project that I didn't think was going to take very long but doing 9 kids, it took us a little while! We also glued together our starfish so they could dry today so we will finish them tomorrow and we made Rainbow Fish.

Grandma came and read stories this morning, she joked that she can't read again until summer is over because she has 3 more sets of eyes that will correct her while she's reading:)
