In the Mail, Week 2.2

All ready for Valentine's Day! 

We made frames for moms & dads with conservation hearts. 

Funshine's Valentine Are A Hoot bags, it was suggested to use these as our Valentine bags, but I didn't think they would be big enough, so we opted for the other ones that we made. 

We made "love bugs"

 

The Day It Rained Hearts, I love to do this book every year around Valentine's Day! 

For Valentine's Day, we made love bug headbands. 

We frosted cookies for our party! 

Played a game of pin the lips on the pig (yes, save your old weather frogs, animals... they work great for stuff like this!)

We played a few games of "arrow practice". It was suggested to use a q-tip and have them blow it through a straw, however, make sure you check your straws before this activity! Mine were too small for the q-tips to fit inside! 

Here was our Valentine cards we made for mom & dad. Peek-a-boo ... I Love you!

In the Mail, Week 2.1

Candy hearts in the sensory table!

Funshine's Hearty Glasses; the only thing I will say that I didn't care for this project was that the glitter was by their eyes after they wore them. I suppose we should have let it dry a little more but I still think it would have been there regardless. 

Funshine's Guess Who Loves You Frame... this was our beginning pictures, I forgot to snap a picture of the end product. But, my opinon is that the bleeding red tissue paper was messy, I think we could have used water color instead and it would have been way better.

In the Mail, Week 1.2

Funshine's  Postal Visor; I thought these were cute and pretty easy for them to make! 

A Tisket, A Tasket; was a suggested activity from Funshine. We had a letter in a basket and then sang the song while the child that had the basket "lost" the letter. We played until everyone had a turn. 

Funshine's  Magic Color Postcard; they had fun watching what colors were going to appear next! 

One of our Valentine projects that went home! 

With our cold weather week we had, it was time to make eskimos! 

In the Mail, Week 1.1

I set up a post office for the kiddos to play with for these two weeks! Here's a peak at what it looks like! 

We brought the coupe car in so we can deliver the mail! The puppet theater turned into the post office! Save old boxes or go to your local post office and pick up some of the free ones and use them! 

I copied a book of stamps and laminated them, so they could "sell" stamps! 

You can't work without a badge... I made up these post master badge's for each of the kiddos! 

I also laminated some envelopes and had a dry erase marker out so they could practice writing, great for those pre-writing skills! I also had a picture of everyone and their addresses with their names so if they wanted to try to write a letter they could!

Monday, we celebrated Groundhog Day..

 

Everyone thought the groundhog would see his shadow! I guess they were right! It was sunny out that day! 

We found shadows all week! 

We made these groundhogs I found at Teachers Pay Teachers. 

Funshine's creative art project, Hiding Groundhog Prop, I thought these were cute, the groundhogs could move up and down! 

Funshine's Mail Carrier Pouch, they had more fun stuffing anything and everything into these little bags... we had to get out the mailing tape for reinforcement! 

Sparkles & Shivers, Week 2.2

Working on cutting out the octogan from our January Funshine journals. This little one was so excited and beamed, "I did it!" 

Funshine's Sparkling Snowflakes, they had fun stamping the doily's and then adding the glitter

Working on their silhouette books, again from Funshine, I wish I would have snapped a picture of the inside of these. We had the same picture (mitten, snowman, circle, etc), and then one was on a white paper and the other was on a blue paper side by side. They thought it was just the neatest thing ever! 

Playing in shaving cream! They always LOVE this sensory experience! 

We ended our week with the 3 Little Kittens, ever since we read the poem while we talked about mittens the week before, they would beg me everyday to do the kitten poem. So, I came up with this little craft for them.
