Sparkles & Shivers, Week 2.2

Here is our milk jug igloo that we made!

A game that we've been playing with our colors

Funshine's Winter Hat craft

Working on cutting out the octogan from our January Funshine journals. This little one was so excited and beamed, "I did it!"

Funshine's Sparkling Snowflakes, they had fun stamping the doily's and then adding the glitter

Working on their silhouette books, again from Funshine, I wish I would have snapped a picture of the inside of these. We had the same picture (mitten, snowman, circle, etc), and then one was on a white paper and the other was on a blue paper side by side. They thought it was just the neatest thing ever!

Playing in shaving cream! They always LOVE this sensory experience!

We ended our week with the 3 Little Kittens, ever since we read the poem while we talked about mittens the week before, they would beg me everyday to do the kitten poem. So, I came up with this little craft for them.

Sparkles & Shivers, Week 2

Funshine's creative art project: Lacing Skate... I thought these turned out super cute! They were a fun little project that kept us busy for awhile.

No better way to pretend to ice skate! Paper plates and bare feet work the best!

We made a snowman name for literacy.. Thanks Funshine for the idea! They had so much fun comparing their names.. who had a longer name, who had the shortest name, similar letters in everyone's names.

Sparkles & Shivers, Week 1.2

We had to make real snow cones since we were making paper snow cones!

Funshine's Faux Snow Cone art project. I don't know about you, but my kiddos love to use the pipettes. They would spend ALL day doing them if I would let them... and let's face it, I really should! It's great for strengthing those fine motor skills by picking up the liquid water color and then watching it go back on the coffee filter and blending in with their other colors.

Funsine's Snazzy Snowman project. For whatever reason, the white spatula sticks just seem fun for this project! We had to do these in 2 parts as we had to let the bead eyes dry and then added it to the spatula and finish the rest.

Sparkles & Shivers, Week 1

We had to have a Frozen Day... we dressed each other up as snowmen!

Fun treats to go home!

Funshine's art project: Glittering Garland. This was a harder project for my kiddos. We were supposed to cut the metallic paper into small pieces and then glue them onto the glittering string to create a garland. The 2's found it easier to just rip the paper (which would even be hard, it was hard paper!)

Funshine's creative arts: Marvelous Mittens project. I thought maybe they would have smooshed their cotton balls out along the top, but not a one did! They did think it was fun that we traced their hands to get their mitten shape!

Wheeling About, Week 2

This was a short week for us, we still managed to get a few things done!

Funshine's Big Bike Wheel was another craft we did this week. We had to cut out the middle of a paper plate, they could decorate their bike wheels and then we added the spokes!

How stinkin' cute are these? It was one of our Funshine crafts, Teddy Bear Wagon. I was suprised we made this just out of a piece of paper, cut and folded. Then we added the wheels, our teddy bear and the foam stick for the handle. The kids thought these were the best things ever!

We also had fun using Funshine's Freesytle Art project: Sweeping Sand Designs. We placed sand over a piece of dark paper (inside a baking sheet) and then they used the brushes to make designs, of course I can't find my pictures to show you, but they were drawing all sorts of things including writing letters.

Wheeling About, Week 1.2

Their favorite song during our transportation theme!

Our Beetle Bug Car's from Funshine. I thought these turned out ADORABLE! Who knew mini cup cake liners would work as car wheels.

Working on more graphing...

Funshine's Stop Sign, they had fun writing with the chalk. We also talked about octagon's again and how they have 8 sides.

Funshine's Wooden Wheel Prints. another fun project that they loved.

Wheeling About, week 1

It's time to get caught up, life has been busy and exciting and there hasn't been much time left to blog! I'll share more news in the next couple weeks!

Funshine's New Year Wishing Wand
We wrote our wish for the new year on them. We also talked about octagon's and sorted different size octagon's.

We dobbered on the dots for number 11

We used Funshine's science cards and graphed if they had wheels or no wheels. They had fun with this activity and thought some of them were pretty funny!

Letter Mm in our Funshine journal

Since our theme was transportation, we had to get out the train table

Working on some fine motor skills!

Funshine's Wheels Go 'Round creative art project. They had fun with this one and had even more fun putting their cars, fire trucks and bus on the picture.
