Gingerbread and Jingle Bells, week 1

Here's our gingerbread house play house we have set up for the week:)

Here's our gingerbread house we made!

A suggested activity in Funshine was to use a paper bag and decorate it like a gingerbread house! We used left over Christmas foam stickers

They had an absolute BLAST with this project from Funshine!

Dramatic Play, we set up our Sweets Shop! Full of play candy canes, gingerbread cookies, chocolates, etc! It was a suggested activity from Funshine, but this is one of our yearly activities!

Gingerbread Men puppets from Funshine, as you can see 1/2 of one got eaten and the other one lost all of his ribbons:)

Our cute Nut Crackers! Just had to share these:)

Joyful Jamboree, Week 2, post 2

Here's our Pretty Presents from Funshine Express, the kiddos had fun making these. First we cut out the box shape and then colored. Finally taped it together and added a bow, just the right size!

Our pretty Starlight Photo Ornament, I'm not sure if we followed the directions correctly, but we took the silver platters from Funshine Express and added glue and glitter and then our picture. They sure look pretty hanging on the tree:)

We also sorted ornaments from our little tree, biggest to smallest, smallest to biggest, etc.., We played Funshine's game of using a large blanket and pretending to be Santa while putting toys inside the blanket for  Santa's sack. And also used Funshine's Science Guessing Gifts Learning Center Game, where we had to guess what toy would go in what box.

What a great two weeks we had of Joyful Jamboree... On to Gingerbread and Jingle Bells!

Joyful Jamboree, Week 2

Our laced stockings from Funshine Express; the lacing was a hard concept for my kiddos!

Working on our journal pages this week from Funshine Express!

A couple cute things we made to hang up!

Cutting the stars from our journal book can be hard work!

We added 10 stickers to our #10 journal page

Our little elf feet from Funshine Express! We also read a couple books about elves and watched the movie on the Elf on the Shelf.

Another fun thing that we did was we all had elf finger puppets and then sang this song:

There’s A Little ElfOriginal Author Unknown
Sung to: “If You’re Happy & You Know It”
There’s a little elf that’s sitting on my nose,
There’s a little elf that’s sitting on my nose.
He is sitting on my nose,
Then off away he goes.
Now there’s no little elf on my nose.

There’s a little elf that’s sitting on my knee,
There’s a little elf that’s sitting on my knee.
He is sitting on my knee,
Just watch and he will flee.
Now there’s no little elf on my knee.

There’s a little elf that’s sitting on my head,
There’s a little elf that’s sitting on my head.
He is sitting on my head,
Then away he goes to bed.
Now there’s no little elf on my head.

Christmas Fun Night

Here's a couple pictures from our Christmas fun night we had last Friday night...
We decorated bird houses into gingerbread houses. I thought they turned out super cute!

The big kids played a game where they had to roll a dice and see who could get their whole gingerbread colored in first.

We tried gingerbread cookies!

We decorated large felt gingerbread men

Frames I got from Oriental Trading

Joyful Jamboree!

Our Jamboree Shaker from Funshine Express... worked great to be our shakers for our circle time song! It was suggested to use paint, but we just used our crayons and markers

Here's our Holiday Wreath from Funshine Express; this was a great activity to work on our cutting skills!

Our Starry Collage from Funshine Express; we kind of did our own version with this. We counted the 5 points the stars all had, sorted them in order of size and who knew the glitter glue would be the favorite!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Santa's workshop and our tree that they can decorate!

Little People Christmas sets and our sensory table is filled with wrapping paper (thanks for the idea Funshine Express) but it's easier to cut on the floor than standing up!

These are Dollar Store cookie sheets & pizza pans that I've covered in wrapping paper and clear packing tape and then added magnets to the bows, so they can decorate the packages!

The start of our gingerbread house!

I am loving our journals from Funshine Express and so do the kids. It's nice not to send home a ton of papers daily instead they can take their journal home at the end of the month.

Our JOY card from Funshine:)
