Monday, October 4

Considering it's Monday... the kids have been in a great mood! Today, we read the story, "Go Away Big Green Monster", it's one of my many favorite books to read and I think it's the kids' too! After doing it on the flannel board, we made our own "Big Green Monster". The kids just sat and giggled while they were making their monsters... We also enjoyed the windy but beautiful morning. Most of them just ran & ran outside!
Breakfast: cereal, banana
Lunch: ham, potato, frozen peas, biscuits
Snack: crackers

We have halloween costumes in the dress up area. Here is Kendra & Peyton wearing some:

Friday, October 1

It's finally Friday! We made purple/black spiders this morning. Alexis really learned to crawl fast since Wednesday... it will become an adjustment for the kids to realize that it's ok for her to be near them!  Not sure if this is Peyton's way to stop the little mover or what... but I thought it was cute!

The weather is gorgeous today and we took full advantage of that this morning!

Wednesday, Sept. 29

Today we learned the number 1 song & put 1 of many different things on our paper. It's short & very simple to remember...

Number 1, number 1,
You are long and straight and tall.
Number 1, number 1,
You're always first of all.

The weather was beautiful outside, the leaves were falling on the kids when we enjoyed our time out this morning. They thought it was so neat that the leaves were falling down on them.

Tomorrow morning, we will be going to the library. Please leave a car seat for your child. We will return by 11:00 so we are back in time for the bus.

Breakfast: bagels, banana
Lunch: tacos, apples
Snack: grapes, cheese

The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything

Today we read the story, "The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid Of Anything" We had to read it a few times before the kids caught on to the actions, "clomp clomp" "wiggle wiggle" "shake shake" "clap clap" "nod nod" "boo boo". Then for our art activity today we colored & cut out the pieces so they could create their own scarecrow behind the door that says, "Knock Knock!"

Here's a funny for today: We were eating tator tot hotdish for lunch and one of the kids says, Nicci I ate all my teeter tot hotdish, can I please have some more grapes? I loved it!
Breakfast: waffles, banana
Lunch: tator tot hotdish, grapes, bread
Snack: caramel rolls
Raking those leaves!

Marvelous Monday!

The sun is shining... today has been a great day! This morning most of the kids read books as I brought out some Halloween books over the weekend. It really amazes me as to how many of them could sit and read for hours on end! Which is a great thing!  We did the Very Hungry Caterpillar & the 5 Little Pumpkins for our flannel board story today. Thanks Sandra for letting me borrow the Very Hungry Caterpillar... I will definitely be making a copy of that!

We worked on same & different this morning as well as reviewed our letters A-E and practiced our counting without realizing that's what we were doing (Clap 5 times, 8 jumping jacks, etc...)

Breakfast: cereal, banana
Lunch: meatballs, mashed potatoes, apple, bread
Snack: goldfish crackers

The kids has a blast playing in the sandbox this morning:
